The beginning of Sansa's story reminds me of a person who does everything society tells you to do but still doesn't see success. She paid attention in class, cared about learning the political landscape, and even dresses how she is told. And yet, she gets taken captive and mocked for it.

When Arya said she's looking for rubies, I assumed it was a moment of both girls being childish. The whole conversation reminded me of two children not fully grasping the subject they are discussing, but having an "enlightened" talk all the same. At the time I assumed "Rhaegar's rubies" were simply a metaphor for his blood, so Arya looking for them was very comical to me. However, Sansa to my memory never doubts the existence of these rubies. She is more concerned with missing out a an experience she may never have again and making a good impression. Besides, who looks for precious stones a decade after they fell on a crowded field?
